Artvoice, you broke our hearts.
Tragically, we did not win the Best Rock Band of Buffalo, losing to the fine folks of Hit N Run. On the plus side, since they don't rank the other four finalists, I'm going to go ahead and declare us the SECOND best rock band in Buffalo. Suck on THAT, Goo Goo Dolls! Next year, TPM fans... Next year.
During our grieving process following the news, I mostly sat inside, cried and wrote depressing poetry. Chris' emotional outlet, though, was much more productive -- he decided to give the old Web site a makeover (www.ThePugMahones.com), and I don't mind saying it looks friggin' amazing. It's all Irishy and piratey and green and whatnot. Now if only I could find a market for my poem "Artvoice done stepped on my face" my emotional outlet would've been just as successful...
Other Web news, another video has sprung up online of our St. Pats show, this one from our good man Nick, who misses a show once every never. It's of "Irish Blood," a song we've been doing for years, but is still unrecorded, so the only places to hear it are live at a show or here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=iPGv9UCDFfU
We also booked a new show at one of our favorite joints, D'Arcy McGee's. This is a happy hour gig, so it's going to be early, free and hopefully sunny. If you love us, but can't take the 2 a.m. finish times, this is the show for you. It's May 16 at 6 p.m., no openers as far as I know.
Keep an eye out for big news on the way, including long-overdue T-Shirts and maybe even a road trip or two.
-Jeff
